Port Townsend Surprise Proposal

I met this bride-to-be in a 10 foot wide room built in 1960. I had already unpacked my half of the dorm and hoped she’d like the way my mama and I had pieced together the desks to go under our lofted beds and hung twinkle lights all around. Would she be a buddy to trek through the snow to the dining hall with? Someone to get ready alongside for double dates and football games? These were pre-Facebook days, so I had no idea who I’d been randomly assigned to live with.
From introducing her to online shopping to piercing ears Parent Trap style, Jacqueline is all of this and so much more. From that first day to the last one in college, she’s the roomie that shared in every experience -and I wouldn’t trade this girl for gold! And when the moment we’d dreamt about back in that tiny room finally came, it was better than imagined! Jack took her back to the place they shared a first date with the cutest plus one, their puppy called Banks. It’s where he lost his wallet, but found the one he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Here’s to the surprise proposal, memories made and all those to come!
